631 Tukad Sandangau Kapakaan Gonipis Lama Kiulu

Hi..its been a while ya..struggling to keep this blog alive 😥
Few post still in the draft, gonna take some time before I can publish it..sighh
So for this post gonna keep it simple. Tukad Sandangau is one of the new attraction in Kiulu Ecotourism. Basically its a Hiking Trail but the difference is the path consist of 631 steps of bamboo stairs. It took approximately 30 min for us (newbie hiker) to went up and came down..and i think its suitable for newbie hiker. For those who've been into hiking activities for a while, these might just for fun hike la. But the main attraction actually not the hiking part, its what you'll encounter/ view along the way. Its an appreciation for the nature, culture and tradition of the villagers here. For more information clicks the link below 👇
Starting Point

Mini bamboo bridge
Okay...start with cement stairs 😅
Here, they'll demonstrate/brief you on some traditional handcraft.

Sepak raga/takraw ball
This little hut is like a information center...these photos are what they include in Tukad Sandangau tour..
Handcraft demo

Experience the traditional bamboo bridge

Stingless beehive.
Demo of how they process the rubber sheet...and of course you can try to do it too.
Traditional kitchen..
Here they'll serve you with some traditional dishes and brief you on how to prepare the dishes.

Another stingless beehives.
The Bamboo pathway
This is quite steep

On our way back.

It's been a while since I do outdoor activities, which I miisssss a lot. I miss nature, I miss taking photos and I miss going out for an adventure.

I hate the situation I'm in. LDR with my husband, I'm alone with our two daughters. I feel trapped 😞😞 struggling to keep my sanity, and thanks God I'm strong enough to not fall into deep depression 😅

Exotic Food : Smoked Wild Boar Meat@Sinalau Bakas

Location : Himbaan Bongol, Tamparuli
Search 'Sinalau Bakas Himbaan Bongol' at Facebook to see the location.
Takano Linopot (steamed brown rice wrapped in leaves), BBQ wild boar (dipped in soy sauce + chili paste + lime) and beer 😋😋😋
Perfect weekend gateaway!
Btw, they got other dishes too like Bakuteh and wild boar soup.
Don't forget the smoked wild boar. Have your own wild boar Bakuteh/soup/stew at home for dinner. Yummm.
Wild Boar head
Kadang-kadang, some people sell the pork meat instead of wild boar meat (maybe they run out of stocks but don't want go out of business). So, before buying make sure to check that the meat they sell is really wild boar meat. There're big differences you know. In this picture, the head is a proof that they sell wild boar meat.

Perfect place to have some nice BBQ boar and beers. Meanwhile, enjoy the view and the cold breeze. 😵

We stay here - Kundasang Homestay

I felt that my post on Sukan KKM Negeri Sabah a bit long to read, so I cut the 'homestay' part and create a new post la. Haha Still the same story, nothing changed but I think it is move convenience to read.

Where we stay in Kundasang during the MOH tournament? For budget stay we choose Almeera Homestay since the owner is one of our staff. Ain't gonna explain much about the homestay, Just click the link to their website Almeera HomestayAll information that you should know already stated there (price, accommodation, term/regulation, contact information etc..) Kundasang is a tourist destination so if you hit google to find homestay in Kundasang, there a few of them la.
So my opinion for Almeera homestay : its a family homestay, suitable for group holiday
one that I love most is the view, its breathtaking! ~ sunrise view, Mount Kinabalu, farm view~
Am very satisfied with the facility...But big NO NO to non-halal thing as the owner itself is Muslim..respect la kio. For the price, affordable/cost saving! because if you stay in large group, eg up to 4 peoples, its a good deal ^^
Some photos for your eyes : View from Almeera Homestay
Veranda view
Front View. Waiting for the sunrise.
Sunrise...It felt so good. Fresh air, beautiful view and a brand new day!
Front view. Make sure to wake up early if you wanna see the magnificent view of Mount Kinabalu.
Staying here remind me of the earthquake tragedy (June 5 2015) last year. I can't imagine how terrifying it might be for them. Anyway, thank God all is well now.
