Short Trip To Penang

This post was drafted few weeks ago. baru hari ni ada chance kasi siap edit and post.

Not a planned journey for me. My hubby went for his friend's wedding and I'm not in the guest list actually . But he didn't tell me that fact before he brought a flight ticket for me because I was a bit 'merajuk' he didn't bring me along. Haha after all the drama, his sister told him that she couldn't make it to the wedding dinner (fyi only my hubby and his sis were invited), and guess what? there is no need to provide extra chair for me ^.^ hehehe yeahh...I'm going to Penang again for the 2nd time! I almost forgotten my first visit here on 2011, not much memory actually, it's a very short trip and we only managed to visit a few places (which is not really worth to go according to hubby's friends).
Now then, come for picture touring :
Red tanglong. Imagine how beautiful the night view with these lantern light on.
Town view.
Hubby hung our prayer ribbon on the prayer tree.
Hubby's friends. They are really entertaining! Thank you guys!
One of the cute animal statue at the temple ground.
Temple's ceiling.
Lantern along the walkway.

Me, hubby and the Buddha statues.
Newly developed housing area. I forgot the where it is.
2nd day : before our flight back to Kota Kinabalu, we had a short tour around Armenian Street, George Town, Penang. See the Street Art Map HERE.
These are the only street arts that we managed to see because we need to rush to the airport for boarding.

They are like a ghost, behind me. haha

Street performance.
This is so cute. ^_^

Haha I think this is some kind of motorcycle gallery.

Now, let's talk about the food :
1. The Penang Laksa stall at Kek Lok Si Market. After Kek Lok Si Temple tour, we had our lunch here.

Penang's Laksa. The appearance may not look very appetizing, but it taste oookay. haha I personally prefer our local Laksa over this la.
The stall's sanitary...hmmm so-so. haha biasa sedap tu kalau inda berapa bersih.
Despite of the stall sanitary condition, it was packed with local and some tourists. Must try this
if you go to Penang. Their Laksa is quite popular, you know. ^^
2. For the Chinese food lover - Must try the food here at Wong Chau Jun Restaurant (73, Rangoon Road, Penang).
Recommended dish : Steamed Fish Slice Hor Fun - one of their signature dish. Damn nice!
Delicious :P : Sour & Spicy Bee Hoon Soup - With fish. Also their signature dish.
2nd day breakfast - White Curry Mee. Nice! But more punch if eaten with chilli paste. My first taste experience of this version of curry me. Been curious when hubby's friends said that we're went for white curry me. Curry? why white?...hmmm. Haha actually, it's just like the normal curry mee but with more emphasis on coconut milk - lighter soup, hence the name. Foodie lover, you must try these - highly recommended with a little bit of spiciness, or maybe more.

Last but not least, thanks to hubby's friends for the short yet awesome and entertaining trip. Surely we'll come to Penang again someday, please be our tour guide again ya...hehehe

And dear guest, thanks for visiting this crappy blog of mine. Not to forget : Kotobian Tadau Tagazo do Kaamatan to all Sabahan. Till the next post.

Trip to Koh Samui, Thailand - Part II

Day 2 : A bit disappointed. Island trip was cancelled due to the bad weather.  Strong wind and rough seas. So, we just buy some snack and beers, and lepaking at Prana Beach Villas (opposite of Prana Resort).  (: But we had a great time nonetheless. Snacks, beers and your love one, aaahh I couldn't ask for more. ^_^
I love this beer...bought from 7E.
I really fall in love with Koh Samui 7Eleven market. Unlike Malaysia's 7E, they have various of things from RTE food to basic cosmetic product. All the basic necessities are there. But, FYI 7Eleven is the only supermarket in that area, so no wonder they have all those things.
Haha I never seen 7E anywhere in Sabah (so far la) that have all these things. Paling2 pun maggi cup and nasi goreng/lemak kali.
Hubby. The one who sit with folded hands, haha that was his signature pose.
No Island trip, all boats are not allowed to sail.
Bought this from Hinyai and Hinta street market. I just couldn't resist the temptation, it's so cute!
Somewhere around Prana Beach Villas.
Lepaking here. View from Prana Beach Villas.
Hmmm this is the only photos (of me) that looking good to me. Haha lemak x berapa ketara.
Hubby. Embracing life. ♥
Later evening, we went to Lamai Sunday night market. We have so much fun there. Food was super delicious (BBQ pork, pork ribs..yummmy), clothes, footwear, street performance, mobile cocktail bar and so much more. We should've came early. Am sorry no photo to show you, forgot to bring along our camera. The phone died too. hurmmm.

Before we went to the night market, hubby and I have another round of massage. Haha Full body massage.

Last but not least, let me list down few things that I love about Koh Samui :
1. The food.
2. Friendly people.
3. Cleanliness of the toilet.
4. Cheap.
5. Massage.

Won't explain more on this. You need to experience these yourself. (:
Till then. Bye.

Peralatan menuai padi/Tools to harvest the Paddy/Rice

Continuation of the Padi Huma post :
We still practice the traditional way to harvest the hillside paddy plant/padi huma. I guess that how we will do it as long as we plant a hillside paddy plant because of the geographical condition.
In Dusun language we called it Linggaman. It's kind of knife but made this way for the convenience purpose. I'm not sure if this tool exist in other country apart from Sabah (Borneo).
This is how you hold it.

And this is how to use it to harvest the rice plant.
Wakid. Wakid is used to gather the harvested crops.
The Sabah's Harvest Festival/Pesta Kaamatan just started and all district now preparing for the beauty pageant contest which is one of the Pesta Kaamatan highlighted event.

People all around the world, May is 'must visit Sabah' month!
Till then.
